Privacy

Privacy policy

The short version: Game Scene Guides has no accounts and sets no cookies. The only measurement is Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless, does not store your IP address, and does not track you across other sites.

What is stored in your browser

Two small values are kept in your browser’s localStorage, on your device only. They are never transmitted anywhere:

Clearing your site data removes both. The site sets no cookies of any kind.

What is not collected

No account or login. No comments or user submissions (yet — see below). No advertising, no fingerprinting, and no cross-site tracking. Apart from the page-view analytics described below, no third-party trackers run on the site. Fonts are self-hosted at build time, so viewing a page makes no request to Google Fonts or any other font service.

Analytics

Game Scene Guides uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which guides are read. It is designed to be privacy-first: it sets no cookies and does not fingerprint your device or follow you to other sites. To estimate the number of unique visitors, Vercel derives an anonymous hash from your incoming request using a salt that is rotated every 24 hours; your IP address is used only to compute that hash and is not stored in the analytics data, and the daily salt rotation means visits cannot be linked across days. The data retained is limited to the page path, the referring URL, coarse location (country, region, city) derived from your IP, and basic device information (browser, operating system, device type). This processing is covered by Vercel’s analytics privacy notice.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request information — including your IP address and browser user-agent — to deliver pages and protect the service. That processing is covered by Vercel’s privacy policy. Game Scene Guides does not keep its own server-side logs or add its own request tracking.

Links to other sites

Guides and store links point to third-party sites (storefronts, wikis, and similar). Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

RSS

Each game has an RSS feed. Requesting it involves no personal data beyond the standard server-log information described above.

If that changes

Comments and optional accounts are planned. When they ship, this page will be updated before those features go live, to describe what is collected, why, how long it is kept, and how to delete it.
